Prof. Ir. Ts. Datin Dr. Wahidah Mansor, CEng

Director

 

Prof. Ir. Ts. Datin Dr. Wahidah is a Director at Microwave Research Institute, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia and a Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UiTM, Malaysia. She has obtained her B. Eng (Hons) Electronic Engineering from the City of Birmingham Polytechnic, United Kingdom (UK) in 1989, Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from University of Nottingham, UK in 1992 and PhD in Electronic Engineering from University of Nottingham, UK in 2007. During her working period in UiTM, she has been appointed as Head of Programme, Deputy Dean (Academic), Research Coordinator and Strategic Planning Coordinator. She has obtained a total of twenty-six research grants from UiTM, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation to carry out projects. She has published numerous numbers of conferences and journal papers and has received a few awards for her excellent teaching and research achievements. She has experience as Editor-in-Chief and Board of Editors. She serves as a reviewer for various journals and conferences including Elsevier Editorial, Wiley Periodicals, SCOPUS-indexed journals, IEEE EMBS EMBC, IEEE EMBS NER, IEEE-EMBS IECBES, EMBEC and others.

Her main research interests include biomedical signal processing, brain–computer interfaces, embedded system design, computer engineering and wireless communication.

She is a member of Board of Engineer Malaysia, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Malaysia Society of Medical and Biological Engineering (MSMBE) and Malaysia Board of Technologist. She was the chair of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), Malaysia Chapter from 2015 to 2016 and is currently a Past-chair of the IEEE EMBS.

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Zuhani Ismail Khan

Deputy Director

 

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Zuhani Ismail Khan is an Electrical and Electronic Engineer, graduated from University of Bradford, UK in 1998. After joining UiTM in the year 2000, she pursued her MSc in Computer and Information Engineering at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and completed her PhD in Electrical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA, UiTM in 2015 where she was involved in designing RF filters.

She was appointed as Head of Quality in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam from 2015 until 2017 and then as the Head of Department for Communication Engineering Centre up until 2018. Her research background concentrates on Microwave and RF devices for high frequency systems, Microwave Destructive Testing and Materials. On October 2019, she was selected to be the Head of Research in Microwave Research Institute (MRI) and currently holds the post of Deputy Director of the institute.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Megat Syahirul Amin Megat Ali, CEng

 

 

Expertise: Biomedical Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence and Applications

Dr. Megat Syahirul Amin Megat Ali is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA. He obtained his B.Eng. (Biomedical) from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia in 2006, and M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Surrey, United Kingdom in 2007. In 2018, Dr. Megat Ali received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Prior to joining Universiti Teknologi MARA, he worked as a lecturer at the School of Mechatronic Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis from 2007 to 2010.

He has contributed much of his expertise in areas related biomedical signal processing and artificial intelligence. Dr. Megat Syahirul is currently attached to the Microwave Research Institute as a research fellow, and collaborates with members of the institute to integrate radar technology with new generation artificial intelligence. Dr. Megat Ali is Senior Member of IEEE, having published articles in IEEE proceedings and also participated as conference organizer under the Control Systems Society. He is also a Chartered Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council, United Kingdom.

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nur Emileen Abdul Rashid

 

 

Dr. Nur Emileen Abd Rashid is currently an Associate Professor at University Teknologi MARA. She obtained the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication Engineering) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2001 and subsequently her MSc. in Computer, Communication and Human Centered Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK in 2002. She pursued her studies and received her PhD in 2011 from the same university. She has contributed much of her expertise in areas related Radar Technology, Telecommunication signal processing and clutter modelling. Currently, she is attached to the Microwave Research Institute as a member and appointed as Head of Resources. Dr Nur Emileen is an active member of IET,IEEE and MyRAN.

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ihsan bin Mohd Yassin, CEng, SMIEEE

 

 

Ihsan Mohd Yassin received his BSc. in Electrical Engineering (Information Systems) from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn in 2004, MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia in 2008 and 2014, respectively.

His research interests are in Artificial Intelligence, System Identification, Blockchain Technology and Optimization.

Ihsan is an active Senior Member of IEEE, holding various position in the IEEE IA/IE and IEEE CSS Malaysia Section. He is also registered with the Engineering Council, IET as a Chartered Engineer. He is also a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.

Dr. Khairul Khaizi Mohd Shariff

 

 

Dr. Khairul Khaizi is a consultancy and industry liaison head with the MRI, UiTM. He joined UiTM in 2011. Before joining, he worked as an electronic engineer at Sapura Thales Electronics in Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Khairul Khaizi holds a Ph.D in radar system from the University of Birmingham, UK, MSc. degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and B. Eng. (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA.

His current research interests include vehicle speed-over-ground radar, traffic monitoring radar, and radar signal processing. In 2019, he was awarded first runner up in the inaugural Maxis IoT challenge. He is an active member of IEEE and MyRAN.
